The project is focused on the development and certification of a tachograph applet intended for use on a contact smart card. The solution is being developed in compliance with the requirements of Implementing Regulation (EU) 2016/799, which defines the technical specifications for tachograph cards in the smart tachograph system.
The AKD Tacho applet will support functionalities for storing identification data of the card and user, as well as data on activities, events, errors, and control actions. These are designed for use by vehicle units for user identification and the implementation of security and functional system requirements.
Tachograph cards with the AKD Tacho applet will also be compatible with other card readers, provided that the appropriate access rights are met. The security features of the solution include user identification and authentication, access control to functions and data, event and error detection and reporting, integrity and reliability of stored information, secure data transmission between the card and vehicle unit, and cryptographic support for mutual authentication, secure communication, cryptographic key generation, and alignment.
The project is being implemented in accordance with the EUCC certification scheme, based on the composite evaluation of certified components, including the selected chip and platform with the operating system. The full evaluation is conducted in line with the EAL4 assurance package, supplemented with components ALC_DVS.2, ATE_DPT.2, and AVA_VAN.5, ensuring a high level of security and resilience to sophisticated attacks.
