The exceptional significance for the Republic of Croatia is highlighted by the fact that AKD is the first state-owned company to obtain the Tier III certification from the Uptime Institute for its newly built data center in Sveta Nedelja.
The Tier III certification of the constructed facility confirms that our data center was built in accordance with the approved design and is capable of meeting the defined availability requirements.
Given that the construction of a data center involves many suppliers and technical disciplines, the possibility of errors and deviations from the project is very high. This is why most European data centers certified by the Uptime Institute only hold a design certificate.
The certification process of the constructed facility includes verification and testing of the systems under real operating conditions to confirm that the facility meets the Tier standard requirements. This ensures that all potential design flaws are identified and resolved before the data center becomes operational.
AKD obtained the Tier III design documentation certification on January 2, 2024, meaning the construction and certification of the built facility was completed in an exceptionally short time.
This achievement demonstrates our ability to deliver on our commitments.
With the completion of this project, AKD joins the ranks of leading organizations that, in the face of increasing cybersecurity threats, are actively strengthening the resilience and availability of national and European critical infrastructure.
