About us

By establishing AKD on 3 July 1991, on the basis of a decision of the District Commercial Court in Zagreb, the Republic of Croatia marked the beginning of its history as an independent state by issuing the first personal documents to its citizens.

BUSINESS HISTORY

1991.- 2009. g.

Start of production of the first Croatian passport, identity card, driver’s license and other ID documents,

Establishment of the Croatian Mint.

Establishment of the company AKD Zaštita.

Start of work on the thermoplastic card program.

Establishment of a personalization center, e-health, e-military card and e-index.

Establishment of the company Indiciuum (MK), e-health (MK) and the second-generation e-passport (RH).

2010.- 2015. g.

e-Tachograph (Croatia), e-Tachograph (Bosnia and Herzegovina), expansion of production facilities, pilot project of the e-ID card.

e-driver’s license, residence permit, border pass, health insurance card (North Macedonia), Rijeka city card, Diners payment cards., Identity card with OIB, e-driver’s license, border pass, residence permit, EU weapon permit, academy ID card, ADR card, locomotive driver licenses, expansion of banking capacities, contactless payment cards (Erste and Diners Card – Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia).

Development in ICT field, ERV applications, SEOP, establishment and accreditation of certification service provider systems.

2016. - 2017. g.

AKD included in the Regulation on organizational and technical standards for connecting to the national information infrastructure; AKD receives first eIDAS certification (EU trusted list), e-signature solutions, eID card 1.0, QSCD devices listed by the European Commission, SDK Middleware solution for reading personal data from eID cards, e-request for issuing driver’s licenses, eID card 1.0 listed among trusted qualified signature devices of the European Commission, e-medical cards, AKD SDK Middleware solution for the banking sector.

2018. - 2019. g.

e-request for passport issuance, EU certification of systems for issuing business certificates and seals, First business credential in NIAS, Qualified certificates for Ministry of Interior officials, e-Newborn, EU certification of systems for issuing remote certificates and seals, Notification of eOI for eIDAS, Interoperability, Qualified certificates for lawyers, Digitalization of contracting processes in the education system,Tobacco product traceability system, Smart tachograph Gen2.
